Electrical Engineer

Location: Onsite Location Options Available, MN

Electrical Engineer

This position could be based at any of the following locations:

Minnesota - Alexandria, Baxter, Crookston, Bemidji, Mankato, East Grand Forks, Rochester, Wyoming, or North Dakota - Grand Forks

As an Electrical Engineer at Widseth, you’ll work on a broad range of engineering designs. You will work alongside an integrated team of engineering and architectural professionals on projects across Minnesota and North Dakota. Your focus will be on:

  • Designing electrical solutions for a variety of public and private facilities, from conceptual planning through final construction documents.
  • Evaluating existing power and control systems, electrical specifications, lighting, and load calculations.
  • Coordinating verbal and written communications with a multi-discipline team. Interacting with contractors and clients throughout the various phases of the project.
  • Working efficiently and effectively with the project team to meet deadlines, as well as balancing multiple projects

To be considered for this position you’ll need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional licensure in the state of Minnesota and/or North Dakota or the ability and commitment to become licensed in both States within one year of employment.
  • 5+ years’ experience with building systems electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Arc Flash Studies, Visual Lighting programs and COMcheck energy calcs.
  • Familiar with lighting design, power design and various electrical codes (ex. NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, etc.).
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
